My name is Jonathan Walker, I’m a senior Communications major at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. I developed a strong interest in journalism as a career in late 2024 when I launched my YouTube channel, “SecondAct,” where I conducted interviews with various Hollywood talent in my spare time.

This ultimately led to me enrolling at UTC in January 2025 after having completed a two-year Digital Media Design degree at Chattanooga State Community College in 2022. I became quite involved in journalism studies and later joined UTC’s weekly student publication, the University Echo. By August 2025, I was hired to lead the University Echo’s news division, where I am still serving today.

As a student journalist, I have a strong desire for truth. It is the greatest professional contribution I’ve ever given to my community.
